General Dynamics Awarded Seaport-e Task order to Support Naval Surface Warfare Center

FAIRFAX, Va. – General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded a Seaport-e task order by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) to support its Aircraft Carrier Distributed Data and Control Network (DDCN) and the Navigation Critical Distribution Systems (NCDS) systems. The total potential value of this task order if all options are exercised is $8.4 million over three years.

Under this new task order, General Dynamics will serve as the In-Service Engineering Agent for the DDCN and NCDS systems installed on Nimitz Class aircraft carriers. General Dynamics will provide engineering support, procurement and installation services, modifications and testing, and secure communications. General Dynamics will modify the DDCN and NCDS systems to maintain current system compatibility and enable secure communications for combat systems users of DDCN data to eliminate latency and communications faults. The work will be done at the San Diego, Calif., Bremerton, Wash., Chesapeake, Va., and Philadelphia, Pa. Locations.

NSWCCD addresses the full spectrum of applied maritime science and technology, from the theoretical and conceptual beginnings, through design and acquisition, to implementation and follow-on engineering.
