General Dynamics Awarded $25 Million For Sub Maintenance and Modernization Work
GROTON, Conn. – The U.S. Navy has awarded General Dynamics Electric Boat a
$25.4 million contract to perform routine maintenance and modernization work on
the USS San Juan (SSN-751), a Los Angeles-class attack submarine. Electric Boat
is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).
Under the contract, Electric Boat will perform a Docking Restricted
Availability, which consists of repairs, maintenance work, alterations and
testing. The work will take place at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton; it is
expected to be completed by May 2008. The contract has a total potential value
of $28.7 million if all options are exercised.
