General Dynamics to Integrate the Next Generation Homeland Security Information Network
FALLS CHURCH, Va. – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has
awarded General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) a task order to develop, implement and
maintain the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) Next Generation. The
initial award is for $18 million and the total potential five-year value if all
options are exercised is $62 million.
The Homeland Security Information Network is a national information sharing and
collaboration platform that provides and serves as a conduit to Sensitive But
Unclassified (SBU) data that is maintained by, and shared in a
multi-directional, trusted and secure environment among DHS and other domestic
and international partners. General Dynamics will update the current Homeland
Security Information Network technology to implement the HSIN Next Generation
requirements.
“With growing and changing threats, hazards and incidents that our nation and
citizens face every day, it is critical for DHS to continue to remain vigilant
and look for ways to enhance its ability to share information and increase
situational awareness,” said Lou Von Thaer, president, General Dynamics Advanced
Information Systems. “General Dynamics will help DHS expand its national
information-sharing and collaboration environment, to ensure that data and
analysis can be shared in a multi-directional, trusted and secure environment
among DHS and its partners.”
The General Dynamics team includes Ambit, Booz Allen Hamilton, Lockheed Martin,
ManTech, and Sim G Technologies. The technical solution providers include Adobe,
EMC, Oracle, RSA and Sun Microsystems.
The task order was awarded under the DHS Enterprise Acquisitions Gateway for
Leading Edge Solutions (EAGLE) contract.
