General Dynamics Awarded Contract to Support the Department of Defense Education Activity
FAIRFAX, Va. – General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of
General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded an Information Technology
Enterprise Solutions - 2 Services (ITES-2S) task order by the U.S. Army
Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) to provide information technology
(IT) systems engineering and data center operations support services to the
Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA).
General Dynamics will provide engineering and operational support to maintain
24x7 continuity of operations for DoDEA, an organization that provides education
to eligible Department of Defense (DoD) military and civilian dependents from
preschool through grade 12 throughout the world. General Dynamics will also
provide program/project management; IT services; enterprise design, integration,
and consolidation; systems operation and maintenance; network support; and
information systems security and information assurance. The work will be done in
Northern Virginia. General Dynamics has been providing similar services to DoDEA
since 2001.

The task order was awarded under the ITES-2S indefinite delivery/indefinite
quantity (ID/IQ) contract. The U.S. Army, DoD and other federal agencies can use
ITES-2S to meet various IT requirements and efficiently obtain enterprise-wide
systems integration solutions.
