General Dynamics Awarded $16 Million for Abrams Tank System Technical Support
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – General Dynamics Land Systems, a business unit of
General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded a $15.7 million contract for
Abrams Tank Systems Technical Support (STS).
The March 6 award will fund engineering studies on Abrams main battle tanks to
identify improvements and replace obsolete parts to maintain the tanks at high
operational readiness rates. The work will be performed by existing General
Dynamics Land Systems personnel in Sterling Heights, Mich. It is expected to be
completed by Dec. 31, 2011.
