General Dynamics Awarded $47 Million Contract by the U.S. Department of Agriculture

FAIRFAX, Va. – General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded an information technology (IT) contract by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) valued at $47 million over five years if all options are exercised.

Through this contract, General Dynamics will provide full service operations and maintenance support for the USDA’s FSIS including application support, information technology infrastructure support, desktop support and repair services across the country. The company will manage an around-the-clock help desk serving as a single point of contact for all users.

“We will provide FSIS with the operations and maintenance expertise necessary to sustain a stable, secure, effective and efficient IT infrastructure to accomplish the complex mission of protecting critical elements of our nation’s food supply,” said Marcus Collier, senior vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology’s Civilian/Homeland Security Solutions division.
